I am proud to give you a good news: yesterday MadCows won again!!!!! It has been a lively match with many occasions for us and nice moments - passes and one-twos, determined and 'clean' clearaces in defence and brave tries to shoot the ball in the goal. Of course, there was more: creative confusion and pedagogical mistakes on the behalf of our team as well as of our 'enemies', unexperienced but with a great shooter upfront - and wearing a bright new football kit, as we will do soon hopefully.
Final Score: MadCows - Le Turche 6-2
The goals - this time I am quite sure: Ale (3), Giorgina (2, one coldly nocked penalty goal), Me (1) -----> :D
Just three quick highlights to share the epic and pathos feelings of the match with our faraway MadCows and supporters:
1. We hope that our official keeper Giulia is recovering and that our vice-keeper Marion is on her way back to Florence; however, yesterday Sara was great: she defended our pitch very well, and she denied the goal to our opponents in several occasions.
2. We had on the pitch two newcomers, Angela and Johanna, and they were quite effective on the left wing in 'containment' and 'roll back' tasks (I'm afraid sometimes my political science soul prevails on the sports commentator, :p
3. We were particularly cool, notwithstanding the homemade shirts, because we had three 'dirigenti' on our bench: Elena and our two coaches: Giovanni and Nino. The style is different (try and guess who does shout louder?), but the commitment they show for our team is praiseworthy and we cannot thank them enough for it.
To sum up, of course we have to improve, but it is a good moment for the team and we also have to cheer. As next week we are going to play on Wednesday at 8,30 pm again, we would like to organise a pizza together after the match (and shower). Players and supporters are welcome, please let us know if you could make it so that we will organise it.
