Good start to the new season!

Da Definire-Mad Cows 1-2

We got a good start to the new season with a 2-1 victory against a team without a name. The start of the game was quite even with both teams being rather careful. Then out of the blue, with an unexpected (admittedly beautiful) long-distance shot that took goalie Valeria and the defence by surprise, the other team was suddenly one goal ahead... Afer that the Mad Cows took over the initiative in the match. Striker Amy came soooooooo close to scoring at least three goals. At half time it was still 0-1 to the opponents. In the second half our defence (led by Christel and Stefi) kept being strong, leaving little room for the other team. However, they had a couple players with a good shot, so we had to be on our guard and as usual we were very lucky to have Valeria in the goal. Then finally our efforts paid off. With the other Mad Cows running like crazy to confuse the opponents, it was an easy task for Mi Ah to move the ball down the left to score with a shot from just outside the area. After the goal, the match was again very open with both teams coming close to scoring a second time. Costanza was only a small inch away from scoring in her first match! With about 10 min left of the match, there was again an opening on the left and with much luck a shot from Mi Ah bounced off an opponent and the goalkeeper had no chance. 1-2!!!! The last minutes were quite chaotic and the MadCows victory was rescued by some fantastic saves by BatValeria :-). Only after the match did Valeria tell the other Cows that she had played the whole match without contact lenses...!
